In the latest ABS-CBN series Viral Scandal, Dimples Romana plays another dramatic role as Kakay Sicat, an overseas Filipino worker who comes home to her family after one of her daughters (played by Charlie Dizon) becomes a victim of a viral video.

Napakaraming masarap kilalanin sa kanya but more importantly I feel that Kakay Sicat will represent many of us,” she said.

Dimples said that she takes her current role very seriously as it puts the spotlight on the experience of a lot of working mothers abroad.

Kung may mga frontliners dito na doctors and those in the medical industry and in the food industry, outside of the Philippines I feel that Kakay will somehow be able to share kung ano yung pinagdadaanan ng isang OFW. Hindi ko man alam kung paano yun exactly but I hope to be able to represent them in a way na alam kong yun yung kadalasang pinagdadaanan nila and I hope to be able to represent that well.

“And also because nanay ako dito, ang puso kasi ng isang ina hindi mo masukat. Pero as you can see in the trailer doble, triple ang sakit pag nanay na. How does that come into play when things get rough and almost everything is taken away from you including your good name?” she shared.

As a real-life mom to her two children Callie and Alonzo, Dimples explained she has not imposed any rules when it comes to using social media.

“It would be safe to say, my rule at home is you can make all the mistakes you like here in my house. That way, bilang magulang, ma-guide kita at ma-correct kita.

Sa kapatid niya, sa magulang niya, sa mga kaibigan niya, we have to be accountable for the things that we post online. We have to know that it is our responsibility whether artista ka or hindi, it will have an effect on somebody’s life, whoever is following you.

“So si Callie I don’t censor her posts because sobrang ayos nung bata. Minsan inisip ko, anak ko ba ito? Because iba rin kasi yung tandem namin ni Boyet (Dimples’s husband) bilang magulang. As you know, there is no tolerance of whatever sense of entitlement. Anybody who knows my family would attest to this na yung mga rules namin sa bahay are quite unconventional. But we go by the core basic Filipino family values which is respeto, tiwala, at pagiging matapat.

Kasi ako talaga, ang hirap, we are the legacy of our parents. We are the legacy of our families so I’m very cautious. Baka from the heaven ay batukan pa niya ako (laughs),” she said.

With her youngest child only six years old, the Viral Scandal actress said she is thankful not to have to worry about him going on social media anytime soon. But as a mother, she is ready to protect her family from anything online.

I haven’t seen anything Callie posted that was a red flag to me so so far so good,” she added.

Viral Scandal also stars Jameson Blake, Charlie Dizon, Markus Patterson, Ria Atayde, Maxene Magalona, Aljon Mendoza, Karina Bautista, Louise Abuel, Kaila Estrada, Vance Larena, Gian Magdangal, Arielle Roces, and Aya Fernandez. Watch it on Kapamilya Channel, TV5, A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC IPTV.
