Toni Gonzaga extended her gratitude to those who supported "2022: The Special Series" in her Toni Talks show on YouTube.
"Super grateful to everyone who watched this series," she posted on Instagram.
In the said series, Toni interviewed various political figures which included Leni Robredo, Grace Poe, Isko Moreno, Manny Pacquiao, and Bongbong Marcos, among others.
"To our guests who gave us their precious time to accommodate our invitation, I’m sincerely honored and privileged to hear their story behind their titles, positions, surnames and affiliations," she remarked.
She also encouraged the Filipinos to register to vote for the coming elections.
"The registration to vote is extended till October 30. Let’s be part of the change! In the end, it’s your vote that matters. God bless our country!" she stated.
It was in August 2021 when Toni launched the said special series on her YouTube channel.
The television host made headlines recently after her interview with Bongbong Marcos for the series. The said interview received criticisms for whitewashing of the Marcos legacy of corruption.
Following Toni's interview with Bongbong, the Ateneo Martial Law Museum published an open letter for the television host. They invited Toni to interview the Martial Law victims.
"May we invite you to instead talk to the victims and surviving families of the Martial Law regime? The Ateneo Martial Law Museum stands ready to facilitate your encounter with the victims of Martial Law and with the truth," the open letter said.
"Hearing their stories and struggles will be much more inspirational for your audience than talking to anyone from the Marcos family," the letter added.
Meanwhile, Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero defended the television host from her critics.
On his Twitter page, Chiz said, "Toni Gonzaga has the freedom & right to interview whomsoever she may want to in her platforms."
