ABS-CBN Films managing director Olivia Lamasan shared some trivia about Hello, Love, Goodbye.
In an interview with Toni Gonzaga, Direk Olive revealed that the movie was supposed to be top billed by Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.
“Yung Hello, Love, Goodbye originally LizQuen (Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil) iyan eh. And then it became Kathryn (Bernardo) and DJ (Daniel Padilla) and then Kathryn and Alden (Richards),” she relayed.
Olivia shared that Liza was not able to star in the movie because she was busy preparing for her Darna role at the time.
“LizQuen iyan but Liza was doing Darna at that time so we gathered. I gathered the creatives, isip-isip tayo. Wala rin ano. Tapos patayo na ako, biglang [lightbulb moment], ‘What’s our next Milan? What’s our next Anak? What’s our next OFW story? What if there’s this girl goes to Hong Kong blah blah blah.’ Tapos nagsisisigaw na si Carmi (Raymundo, writer), nagdugtong dugtong na, nabuo na namin ang kuwento. That’s it," she stated.
Hello, Love, Goodbye became a blockbuster hit and the highest grossing Filipino film of all time. It earned Php880 million in ticket sales.
It starred Kathryn Bernardo who played the role of Joy Fabregas and Alden Richards who portrayed the role of Ethan Del Rosario.
