Actress Danica Pingris took to social media to pay tribute to her husband, retired basketball player Marc Pingris, on the occasion of his birthday.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Danica began by praising her husband for his sincerity and humility from when they first met many years ago.
"Happy Birthday to my love @jeanmarc15!" she wrote. "I can still remember the first time you called me. Nagulat ako ang bilis mo magsalita ng Tagalog. When I asked you sumagot ka agad ng, 'Ha? Dito naman ako lumaki. Half French but born and raised in Pangasinan.'
"Umpisa pa lang nagpaka-totoo ka na sa amin ng friends ko. 'Di pasikat but very genuine and humble," she said. "You never tried to pretend to be someone you’re not. Kahit pa sobra 'yung kaba mo whenever you’d have to talk to my relatives before, humarap ka pa din ng maayos at proud ka sa humble beginnings mo. Every time you achieve something, hindi mo nakakalimutan bumalik at magpasalamat sa lahat. Direcho kang kausap. Talagang what you see is what you get."
The actress went on to express how grateful and proud she is of her husband, as she wished him a happy birthday.
"You always try to give your best in everything you do. Of course you’re not perfect and no one else is. Pero masaya ako sayo and I’m so grateful to have you!" said the actress. "You always tell me na 'di naman kailangan mag-post pa ako dahil alam mo naman na. Pero ganoon ako ka-proud sa ‘yo. So accept mo na yung appreciation post ko ok? Hahaha!
"Thank you for loving us so much! Today is a blessing because we get to celebrate God’s faithfulness in your life!!! Happy Birthday Bebe!!! Ay ayeten ka!" she added.
Just last May, Danica also penned a heartwarming message for her husband, following his announcement that he was retiring from basketball.
"I will definitely miss watching him play but I’m also excited for what lies ahead," she said in her previous post. "I know God has even greater plans. To everyone who has supported Marc in his basketball career, Thank you so much! We are eternally grateful for all your love and support.
Addressing Marc, she said: I will be forever proud of what you’ve accomplished @jeanmarc15 I’ll always be by your side. Love you so much!"
Danica and Marc have been married for 14 years. They first met in October 2005 and two years later tied the knot in a Christian ceremony.
The couple has two children—Jean Michael and Anielle Micaela.
