During their virtual media conference, the pop group shared how they are preparing for this digital show given that they will perform alongside an orchestra. SB19’s youngest member Justin said, “Siyempre po it’s hard for us kasi it’s going to be our first time to perform na magkakaroon ng orchestra. So ‘yung demo na sinend sa’min, madali siyang pakinggan in the sense na siyempre nandoon ‘yung guide. Pero ‘nung rehearsals namin, parang nangangapa ngapa pa ako. Especially ako, kasi siyempre kailangan ko talagang praktisin maigi. So lahat naman kami sa rehearsal, naeenjoy namin so feeling ko regarding sa preparation, ang pinakaimportante is naeenjoy and nararamdaman mo ‘yung music.”

When asked which he prefers more between pop and orchestra, Justin said, “Parehas po. Syempre depende sa mood. Pero maganda rin na parang hindi ka laging nandoon sa pop so it’s a good experience for us na na-experience namin ‘yung orchestra.”

Speaking of a new experience, the five-piece group was also asked about the possibility of trying new music genres for their future releases.

Stell said, “For that question po, I think wala naman pong masama kung gagawa kami ng ibang genre for our next song. Actually, it’s kinda, you know, maeexcite pa nga po kami to try something new for our group, and I think it’s one of our goals din naman to try something na hindi pa naihahain ng SB19. And, we are willing to share our knowledge rin, kung ano ‘yung kaya naming ibigay, ‘yung ipakita pa ng mas marami.

“Kasi totoo, sabi nila ‘yung music naman, hindi naman talaga limited ‘yan or hindi naman talaga kailangan magkaroon ka ng harang or hindrance doon kung ano ‘yung nasa isip mo at kung ano ‘yung pumapasok sa isip mo na gawin… Kaya kami, kung bibigyan talaga kami ng chance to create something new or ibang genre, talagang gagawin at gagawin namin ‘yun kasi I think mas ‘dun mabuboost and mas makikita kung ano pa ‘yung kayang gawin ng group namin,” he added.

Talking about the genres that they could explore someday, Stell said, “Pero I think jazz okay din eh, saka funk, hindi pa namin natatry ‘yung mga gano’ng klase, which is lagi naming napapag-usapan. Kasi kami, lagi kaming nag-uusap. ‘Anong bang mga gusto niyong kanta ngayon? Saan kayo kumportable gawin? Or ano ‘yung mga naiisip niyong genre na ilalabas natin?’ ‘Yan, si Pablo, si Ken, lagi silang nag-uusap ng mga gano’ng bagay.

“And napag-uusap namin, ‘What if try naman namin ng ganito? Try natin ganyan.’ Marami eh. Kasi iba iba rin kami ng taste sa music, iba iba rin kami ng mga kinalakihang songs. Hindi natin masasabi. Siguro expect the unexpected na lang po,” Stell added.

Composed of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, SB19 is the phenomenal P-pop group behind the hits “Go Up”, “Alab”, “What?” and “MAPA.”
