During the height of her popularity as a star in the ‘80s, Lotlot de Leon said that era also marked some of the most dramatic times in her life as well. Having joined German “Kuya Germs” Moreno’s variety show That’s Entertainment at the age of 15 and then headlining her own show Lotlot and Friends at the age of 17, Lotlot’s love team with Ramon Christopher also produced a string of films.
They eventually got married and had four children together. Lotlot admitted becoming a mother as early as when she was 18 would be an Maalaala Mo Kaya-worthy moment in her life.
“Naku. I think siguro having my children would already be an MMK moment for me. How they came into my life and how they are such a blessing to me. Lalo na sa mga millennials and Gen Z, sobrang throwback ito, parang mga two eras ago,” she shared during the MMK mediacon.
When asked who she would choose to play her in her life story if ever it were to be chosen for MMK, Lotlot said that her eldest daughter and fellow Kapamilya actress Janine Gutierrez would be her only choice. “Siguro hindi na ako maghahanap ng iba pa, yung anak ko na na si Janine kasi siyempre I think she understands kung ano ako, kung how I move and everything. And she really knows my story so who else to better play the young Lotlot. So si Janine sana,” she added.
In the October 2 episode of MMK, Lotlot plays the mother of ex-Pinoy Big Brother housemate Ralph Malibunas (played by Jeremiah Lisbo) who goes to France as an OFW to support her family. Lotlot shared her working experience with the Star Magic artist.
“Si Miah ang aking anak dito who plays the role of Ralph.
“Actually si direk Chad naman nakatutok sa amin and for me personally, tinignan ko siya talaga as my son. So si Jeremiah, as Ralph, is very. very close to his mom so hindi naman ako nahirapan sa parte na yun. So nandun yung naramdaman ko sa mom ni Ralph and nandun rin yung naramdaman ko na I have to let you go and decide for yourself kasi ganun kita kamahal.
“So I think Miah was able to deliver that wonderfully. Si direk Chad was always behind us. He would always remind us of certain things about the relationship so everything went well naman. So we’re very thankful also na hindi kami pinabayaan ni direk,” she said.
Proud to be part of MMK’s 30th anniversary episode this month, Lotlot hoped more people can watch their heartwarming stories. Talagang tinulungan kaming lahat,” she said.
