Solid Sharonians can look forward to more surprises from Megastar Sharon Cuneta as the singer-actress announced exciting projects — including a movie and an album — in the coming months.
As Sharon turned 55, she released a vlog expressing her gratitude for the year and that was and hoped that while it has been challenging for most people, they would still find it in their hearts to keep the faith.
“It’s 2021. 2020 was not a good year for the whole planet. [I] will take the lessons I learned from 2020’s experiences from the loss of freedom for all of us, the loss of loved ones, the loss of jobs … maybe some of you lost faith in God and I pray that you return to Him,” she said.
Admitting that she falters once in a while, Sharon shared how she managed to overcome that phase in her life.
“Because, really if you feel that we were not in control of COVID-19 and then you give up in believing that God is, was, and always will be in control of the things we are not in control of, we will have no one to hold on to or to turn to and I happen to have such faith in Him that sometimes, because I’m only human that also falters,” she said.
“Nawawalan din ako minsan ng parang ‘Lord, why is it like this?’ And not that it’s bad to ask … I guess it’s just like sometimes, when you feel bad with your father, it’s just like that. Because He is our Father, you can ask Him, you can tell Him, you can get angry … but in the end, always go back to Him. He’s just waiting,” she added.
Sharing her advice for those who fall down sometimes, she said: “And for all you know, they said: “It’s always darkest before the dawn.” So, the lowest point, once you hit it, there’s nowhere else to go but up. Because life is a cycle. Just like a wheel, it goes up and it goes down.”
She went on: “It cannot always be perfect. Always remember the good times, the perfect, and the happy days may not go on forever. But what we may have forgotten is that the sad, painful, and bad days do not go on forever as well.”
Sharon also shared her prayers this 2021 and hoped that the difficulties that people faced in the past year would prepare everyone for brighter days ahead.
“I pray that 2021 will be a much brighter, much better year for all of us and through the next year and the years to come. Let us not forget the difficulties we faced so we can be prepared for the problems to come especially if they are smaller compared to COVID-19,” she stated.
“Maybe this pandemic has made us stronger. And hopefully, with God’s grace, we will soon be able to fight it,” she added.
Expressing her gratitude to all the people who made her 55th birthday special, she said: “Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I can’t believe I’m celebrating my 55th birthday still with you. Anyway, for my birthday, this will be my 43rd year, this month, in show business. My 43rd year singing, my 40th in acting, and I’ve made maybe 60 movies now.”
Sharing what fans can expect from her this year, she said: “I can’t believe that I am set to do a few more, already ready and I’m doing an album again … again, unexpectedly, but, I’m going to work as hard as this pandemic will allow me to in safe situations, I’ll make sure.”

Towards the end of the video, Sharon also thanked her fans for the support they have given her throughout the years, saying:
“And to all my Sharonians, you are so precious to me, you have made this life possible for me and my family. You have made so many of my dreams come true next to God and my family and my friends. And I am grateful to all of you, and will eternally be.”
