Claire Dela Fuente’s son Gregorio De Guzman emerged as one of the suspects in the controversial death of flight attendant Christine Dacera. But who exactly is Gregorio De Guzman?
Despite initial reports suggesting Christine died of an aneurysm, Makati police claimed the identification of the 11 suspects was enough to consider that the victim died of rape-murder.
One the suspects involved is Gregorio De Guzman — the son of veteran singer Claire Dela Fuente — who admitted that he is openly gay which makes it less likely for him to commit a rape crime against a woman.
Here’s what we know about him so far:
Gregorio, fondly called by his mom as Gigo, has already started working his way up in the corporate world.
Even before earning his diploma, he became Vice President of Operations at a company called Mesaverde Corporation in 2005.
Five years later, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Literature at the Ateneo de Manila University.
He then took a certificate course in Culinary Arts and Chef Training at the Enderun College in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. In 2015, he interned at the Le Jules Verne restaurant in Paris.
From 2017 to 2019, he served as Managing Partner for Alek Cafe & Kitchen in Legaspi Village, Makati City.
He eventually became an Executive Chef for a restaurant specializing in Asian noodles called The Noodle Studio.
Since 2015, he has been an instructor at the indoor cycling studio called Electric Studio.
Based on Claire’s Instagram posts, Gregorio loves to travel with his mom — going on vacation in places like Switzerland.
In an interview with ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo, Gregorio said everyone who attended the party were members of the LGBT community.
"Kasi lahat po sila mga bakla na nakikisali sa kaniya. For me po kasi, parang ang impression kasi niya mahilig siya makipag-hang out sa kagaya namin [LGBT]. Komportable po siya sa amin. Kasi the entire time po, komportableng-komportable siya sa isa't isa sa amin," he said.
Dismissing claims of the Makati police there’s a possibility for them to commit rape since “gays are still men, especially if they’re intoxicated,” he said: "For me po, never po ako nagkaroon ng sexual relations sa isang babae. Never po ako tinayuan sa isang babae. Palagi pong lalaki. Madami po makaka-testify niyan.”
