With his current film Fan Girl continuing to reap praise and positive reviews ever since it premiered online last December 25, Paulo Avelino said he would be open to working again with younger co-star Charlie Dizon.
“Bakit hindi? I’m sure magkakatrabaho pa kami ni Charlie in the future,” he said.
The 32-year-old actor recalled the experience of doing intimate scenes with Charlie. “Mas na-shock ako kesa kay Charlie kasi ang dami talagang pinapagawa ni direk Tonette (Jadaone). Dalawa lang naman, either may ipagawa siya or wala siyang ipagawa, hindi na niya sinasabi kung ano ang gagawin ko. Buti na lang nakakapag-adjust ako. Siguro it’s just being true to your character and to the material. Tapos eventually matatapos din naman yung mga eksena. Makakalimutan mo na. Gusto ni direk Tonette raw lagi yung nakukuhang reactions ni Charlie. Yung pinaka natulong ko lang dun is to make her feel comfortable na para at the end of the day it’s work, it’s a role, and we’re these characters. Parang huwag ka mag-alala, hindi kita babastusin, trabaho lang ‘to,” he recalled.
Playing a character using his name and some elements taken from real life, Paulo said he is not afraid to play a role that is far from the boy-next-door image.
“Marami naman akong nagawang kontrabida or masasamang or mga hindi likable na characters. At the end of the day, whether its likable or not, I try to give my best for the character. Sa lahat naman ng pelikulang ginagawa ko medyo hands on ako lagi dahil gusto ko mag-work lagi yung pelikula or at least lumabas siyang maganda. In this case, wala ako masyadong inputs, siguro sa mga eksena na lang,” he said.
