Following the eviction of Pinoy Big Brother: Connect housemate Russu Laurente who admitted that he previously said yes to the shutdown of ABS-CBN, Toni Gonzaga took to social media to share her thoughts about the housemate's journey on the show.
"Back to work this 2021. For our 2nd eviction night housemate Russu was evicted because of a mistake he did that eventually made him realize the damage it has done. People are very quick to judge him, call him names and crucify him on social media because of it without realizing that at 19 years old, he doesn’t know the gravity of words spoken. He has learned his lesson and this will help him grow and mature in life," Toni wrote.
The host believes that now Russu "knows better, he will do better."
She hoped that this will serve as a reminder for people not to label a person by the mistakes they've committed but "from how they rise up, rebuild and become a better person they are really supposed to be."
Toni also reminded her followers that everyone deserves forgiveness.
"I hugged the boy after the show and he kept apologizing. Forgiveness is a gift everyone deserves. #sundayrealization2021," she concluded.
Russu is the second evictee of Pinoy Big Brother: Connect.
Last week, he apologized to Big Brother for agreeing to the shutdown of ABS-CBN in 2020.
"Alam ko po kuya na nasaktan po kayo na minsan po isa rin ako sa mga sumang-ayon sa pagpapasara ng iyong tahanan nong mga panahong hindi ko pa alam 'yung mga nangyayari, 'yung mga totoong nangyayari po sa mga nakikita ko po kuya. I'm sorry po kuya kung nasaktan ko po kayo at 'yung pamilya po ng ABS-CBN," Russu said in a conversation he had with Big Brother last week.
