Arnel Pineda shared an exciting update about his biopic. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the vocalist of Journey shared that it is "going to happen" and that the team from Warner Bros. will be coming to the Philippines to commence production.

“I think they’re gonna start. Some people from Warner will start coming here. I think maybe with (Crazy Rich Asians director) Jon Chu and (Joker and The Fighter screenwriter) Scott Silver. They might come here to audition actors and actresses that will take part in my biopic,” he told Rolling Stone.

Arnel further shared that he is going to bring the team around the town where he grew up.

"I want to show them where I grew up, where I was born, where everything happened before this whole magical thing," he said.

When asked what phase of his life is going to be featured in the story, he relayed, "I’ve spoken many times with Scott Silver. What’s interesting about my story is that I’ve survived two coup attempts here in the Philippines before I went to Hong Kong for 10 years."

"I don’t know he if plans to tell what happened to me in Hong Kong, but I had 10 years there. He might focus on my love story with my wife now," he shared.

According to Arnel, he could imagine the biopic ending up in Chile where his first show as part Journey happened.

"I remember when my wife decided to join me on tour in 2011. We were playing to a 30,000 crowd that night. I was telling my wife, 'Remember Hard Rock Cafe when there were only three tables? Now it’s 30,000 people.' It was just unbelievable," Arnel said.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News in 2018, Arnel remarked that he is "honored and thrilled" to be the subject of the biopic which was yet to be confirmed at that time.

“Personally, I want this to happen. Maganda ‘to para sa atin, eh. Maganda sa mga dreamer, sa mga nangarap katulad ko who want to make it big, or at least iyon bang ma-recognize man lang ‘yung talent nila. I hope kung mangyari man ‘tong movie na ‘to, mag-open ‘to ng mas malaki pang door para sa mga Filipino at Asians,” he said in the interview in 2018.
