"Spoiled wife, spoiled husband, too! It works both ways."
This is what model-host Chesca Garcia said as she shared Friday, January 22, tips on how to keep a marriage happy and satisfying.
In her post, Chesca—who has been with her husband, former basketball player Doug Kramer, for a total of 17 years, 12 of which as husband and wife—also stressed the need for married couples to spend quality time with each other.
"There is plenty of room to grow and get to know each other even more," she said in her post.
"It shouldn't be optional, it's obligatory—out of your love and devotion to your spouse," she added.
Chesca, 40, and Doug, 37, tied the knot on October 9, 2008 before their family and closest friends at the Blue Leaf Events Place in McKinley Hill, Taguig City.
They have since welcomed three children—Kendra, 11, Scarlett, 9, and Gavin, 8.
Previously, Doug also shared the secret to his happy and long-lasting relationship with Chesca.
In an Instagram post, he said it's important for couples to “work through your troubles and misunderstandings,” saying they should “never let a day pass when you argue and fight.”
“Sixteen years together and we have never let an argument last more than a day,” he said.
“Take down your pride. Say sorry first. Admit your own faults rather than pointing fingers. Work on what you need to do rather than trying to change your partner’s attitude,” he continued. “Remember, love is more than an emotion. It’s always a choice.”
