Pumanaw na sa edad na 86 ang tinaguriang “James Bond of the Philippines” na si Tony Ferrer–Antonio Laxa in real life at ipinanganak noong June 12, 1934.

Binawian ng buhay ang beteranong aktor nitong Sabado, January 23, 2021, due to heart illness and diabetic complications (as per his nephew Jim Laxa Lalic), in their house in Pasig City.

Binansagan si Tony na “James Bond of the Philippines” dahil sa sunud-sunod niyang pagganap bilang spy (Tony Falcon) sa mga blockbuster Agent X-44 action movie series. Naging aktibo siya na actor at producer sa loob ng 47 years (1960 to 2007).

Nagkaroon ng tatlong anak ang action star mula sa iba’t ibang babae. He is the father of award-winning actress Maricel Laxa, former beauty queen-actress Mutya Crisostomo Laxa, at ni Mark Laxa.

Kasama ni Tony sa Pasig residence ang sister niyang si Trinidad Laxa na dating director at ang aktor na si Nick Romano. Apo rin ng veteran actor si Donny Pangilinan na anak nina Maricel at Anthony Pangilinan.
