Pia Wurtzbach urged the public to register and vote for the 2022 elections.

After news about US Marine Lance Corporal Joseph Scott Pemberton’s absolute pardon came out, the Miss Universe 2015 took to Twitter to reiterate why #TransLivesMatter. It can be recalled that Pemberton was convicted of killing a transgender named Jennifer Laude in 2014.

The beauty queen then went on to encourage her followers to let their voices be heard in the 2022 elections.

“Tuwing nagbabasa ako ng balita, palagi nalang palala ng palala yung mga nababasa ko. Ngayon ito naman? Hay ... Eto nalang, let's all make sure we register to vote for the next elections. Each one of us,” she wrote.

The 30-year-old celebrity also shared some useful tips on how to register for the upcoming elections.

“Useful information! Please lahat tayo dapat mag register na maging voter. Bawat isa sa atin. Hindi na sapat na sa social media lang tayo naririnig. Our voices need to be heard through our votes. #MasMaramiTayo #MagparehistroKa,” she wrote in another tweet.

“I will continue reminding everyone to register to vote. Dahil sigurado, maraming magpapabukas nito until the last minute. No more excuses (even for me) lahat tayo dapat registered na. Hindi enough na sa social media lang tayo naririnig. #MasMaramiTayo #MagparehistroKa #40MStrong,” she added.

She continued: “Okay. Signing off for tonight. Baka ma-carried away pa ko sa mga susunod kong sasabihin.. pero yun na. I know I don’t use twitter much and I probably don’t have a lot of active followers here anymore. But pls. for those who can read this. Please mag register tayo ha?#MasMaramiTayo.”

Liza Soberano also took to social media her outrage over the pardon granted to Pemberton last Monday, September 7.
