The American actor most popularly known as “The Rock,” admitted on Instagram that he and his family recently tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The 48-year-old actor shared that they had become infected after a visit from very close family friends. He said in his Instagram video post, “It was one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family.” He also shared that he and his family have already fully recovered and in good health.

Dwayne Johnson, a former wrestler turned Hollywood actor known for blockbuster films like Jumanji and Fast and the Furious movies also shared details of his family’s journey after getting infected. His young daughters Jasmine and Tiana had mild symptoms while he and his wife Lauren Hashian had a more challenging road to recovery. He also took the opportunity to advise his 196M Instagram followers to always vigilantly wear face masks. He said, “It baffles me that some people out there — including some politicians — will take this idea of wearing masks and make it part of a political agenda. It has nothing to do with politics. Wear your mask.”

After going through the whole experience, Dwayne said he would advise everyone to always exercise caution when interacting with others outside the home. “Think twice about who you have over to your house,” he said. He also added that his own mother, who had part of her lungs removed before recovering from lung cancer, diligently wears a face mask every day.

Just like The Rock, other Hollywood celebrities who have contracted and recovered from the coronavirus include Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, Idris Elba, Daniel Dae Kim, singers Pink and Sara Bareilles, and NBA athletes Kevin Durant and Rudy Gobert.
