Jon Jon Briones, one of the Filipino cast members of the original 1989 London run of Miss Saigon, will be part of Ryan Murphy’s (Glee, American Horror Story) new suspense-drama series, Ratched.
Briones previously worked with Murphy on American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace where he played Modesto Cunanan, the father of Andrew Cunanan played by fellow Fil-Am actor Darren Criss.
An eight-episode Netflix Original series, Ratched is set to premiere on September 18.
Ratched will detail the origins of asylum nurse Mildred Ratched, the antagonist from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Mildred arrives in post-war Northern California to work at a leading psychiatric hospital where experiments are being conducted on unwilling patients. While Nurse Ratched may project a stylish and serene image, there is a darkness inside her that will soon show that true monsters are made and not born.
Sophie Okonedo as Charlotte Wells and Jon Jon Briones as Dr. Richard Hanover.
