Kathryn Bernardo has received two Creator Awards from video-sharing site YouTube.
The actress shared her social media milestones in her latest vlog which sees her unboxing her Silver and Gold Creator Awards. The said awards are given to YouTube channels with 100,000 subscribers and 1,000,000 subscribers, respectively.
In the video, Kathryn explained what inspired her to launch her YouTube channel, dubbed “Everyday Kath”.
My YouTube Silver & Gold Playbuttons have finally arrived and I want to share this moment with you because these were all made possible by your love and support. I cannot thank you enough!!!🥺 I also really wanted to include some of you as part of the celebration, and prank-calling you guys turned out to be the BEST idea ever!!! New video is now up on #EverydayKath. It's my longest vlog to date, but I hope you enjoy every minute of it as much as I did! 😹
“Why did I create a YouTube channel? Why nga ba? I don’t know. Ito ‘yung isang bagay na matagal kong pinag-isipan because as we all know ‘di ba I’m a very private person. Grabe ko pinapahalagahan ‘yung privacy ko. So, ‘di ko sure before kung magiging comfortable ako i-share ‘yung mga nangyayari off-cam,” she said.
She went on: “But then, alam niyo, I’m really happy na I did this. I think isa siya sa mga magagandang decisions na nagawa ko for 2020 because through my channel, mas nakilala niyo ako and hindi ko in-expect na ganun ‘yung pag-welcome sa ‘kin kasi siyempre, this is a whole new world for me.
“But, grabe. Overwhelming ‘yung support na nakuha ko from everybody. So, maraming salamat sa lahat ng nag-welcome sa akin. Thank you rin sa mga subscribers, sa mga fans, of course, kasi this wouldn’t be possible without you. Totoo ‘yun. So shine-share ko ‘to with all of my subscribers today.”
As her way of thanking her YouTube subscribers, Kathryn surprised five lucky fans by giving them a call as part of a prank.
“Pumili ako ng five. So sinave ko ‘yung number nila ngayon and today, personally ko silang tatawagan just to say thank you for being part of my journey dito sa YouTube. Pero ‘yung catch doon, ‘di ako magpapakilala sa simula. Since it’s a prank call magpe-pretend muna ako as someone else and then tignan natin kung anong magiging reaction nila,” said Kathryn.
Naturally, all the fans had a hard time keeping calm as they couldn’t believe that they just received a phone call from their idol, regardless if they were the target of a prank.
“Prank-calling you guys turned out to be the BEST idea ever!” said Kathryn.
