Having experienced body-shaming when she took a break from showbiz, KC Concepcion said she has finally learned to embrace her curves.

In an Instagram photo that shows her flaunting her curves, the daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta said she wouldn’t want to have her body in any other way.

“Making my Portuguese curves shine everyday ... in case someone’s been living under a rock, curves are in, curves are NOW, curves are TIMELESS and having this ultra feminine shape? I wouldn’t have it any other way,” she stated.

The 35-year-old celebrity likewise shared what inspired her to accept the fact that unlike most Filipina women, she doesn’t have what she described as “Asian, stick-thin body.”

According to KC, she has been consistently body-shamed during her three-year hiatus from show business.

“I used to get body-shamed when I went on my 3-year hiatus for not having that Asian, stick-thin body (for an Asian like me), and many women like me get affected by this mentally, emotionally and physically,” she said.

But according to KC, the pandemic has made her realize that instead of loathing  the way her body looks and eventually developing a body disorder, she chooses to celebrate her curves.

She wrote: “Going through a pandemic and realizing the big picture issues of the world, I realized life is to be celebrated, and enjoyed... Like, why would I choose to develop an eating disorder over losing all the extra weight healthily?”

She went on: “Why choose to lock myself up comparing myself to everyone else, when I could be dressing up for these fire feminine hips and that booty (that some girls even pay to have by the way)? Celebrate LIFE. Tomorrow is not promised.”

The actress-TV host revealed that the reason why she decided to post something about her body is to celebrate the kind of body Filipina women like her have.

“Serving you... a FILIPINA with LATINA CURVES. I’m here to celebrate all Filipinas who are like me,” she stated.
