Ben&Ben announced that they would be donating the earnings of the song “Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin” to the ABS-CBN employees who lost their jobs due to the non-renewal of the Kapamilya network’s franchise.

Last Friday, August 28, the OPM band took to social media to reveal their plans for the song — including its accompanying music video — as thousands of retrenched ABS-CBN employees bid goodbye on their last day at work.

“Sharing with you that we've given earnings from our song "Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin" to programs that will support retrenched employees of ABS-CBN, through Lingkod Kapamilya,” Ben&Ben wrote.

In another tweet, Ben&Ben revealed that the reason for releasing the song has always been for the employees of the network.

“The band's goal in releasing the song has always been to be of service to retrenched employees of ABS-CBN,” the band said.

One of the most influential bands in the country, Ben&Ben have also shown strong stance on political issues.

The band also sang the theme song for the Black Sheep film “Exes Baggage,” which marked the reunion of Carlo Aquino and Angelica Panganiban on the big screen.

Black Sheep is a subsidiary of Star Cinema, ABS-CBN’s film production arm.

Ben&Ben was also tapped to sing the theme song for Star Creatives’ “Make It With You” — Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil’s teleserye comeback.

Star Creatives is a business production unit under the media giant.
