Jake Cuenca responded to a basher who told him that celebrities do not feel the effects of the pandemic because they have savings.
On Twitter, Jake expressed his disapproval of Senator Cynthia Villar's statement about the medical workers, which made headlines on August 1.
Reacting to Sen. Villar’s statement, Jake said, "Ma'am wag natin baliwalain ang trabahong ginagawa ng mga healthcare workers natin, sila nga ang nagbubuwis buhay para sa atin lahat ngayon pandemia. Dapat silang pasalamatan."

A netizen then downplayed Jake's comment saying that celebrities like him don't really feel the effects of the pandemic because they have money.
"Agree with senator Villar. Di niyo ramdam ang hirap ng mga Pinoy dahil may mga ipon kayong mga artista," the netizen said.

In response, Jake remarked, "Yes savings that we also use to help our frontliners, Kapamilyas, and other Filipinos who are [in] need. Rather than trolling maybe you should put your energy into helping other people instead."
