After losing gigs because of the COVID-19 pandemic, online sensation Dante Gulapa has ventured into selling lumpia to support his three children.
Dante made headlines last year because of his "eagle dance" and landed several gigs and television guest appearances. But because of the pandemic, Dante lost his work this year.
On Monday, August 24, Dante announced his lumpia business on social media. "HI MGA KA IDOL BAKA MAY GUSTO UMORDER NG MGA TINDA KO PO MURA2 LANG PO GAWA NI BIG PAPA DANTE AKO NA MAG [DELIVER MISMO] SA BAHAY NINYO KAU NA BAHALA SA [SHIPPING FEE] BASTA HANGAN PWDE KO LANG [DELIVIRAN]," he posted.
Among the types of lumpia he is selling are Special Lumpia Shanghai, Special Lumpia Toge, and Special Lumpia Isda.
Dante also said that his lumpia can be picked up using food delivery services like GrabFood and Food Panda.
Last month, Dante appealed to netizens to help him find work as COVID-19 pandemic left him jobless. He also shared that he and his wife are now living in separate homes so he needs to support his three children.
"HI PO MGA KA IDOL MUSTA PO KAU MAG TATANONG LANG PO AKO BAKA MAY ALAM KAU PWDE KO UPLAYAN TRABAHO MGA IDOL KC HIRAP NG BUHAY NGAUN PARA MAY PANG SUPORTA NAMAN PO AKO SA MGA ANAK KO (sic)," he posted on social media in July.
He further shared, "PM LANG NINYO IDOL KUNG MAY ALAM PO KAU KC BUMOKOD NA PO MUNA AKO KC LAGI NA KAMI NG AAWAY NG ASAWA KO KAYA E2 KAILANGAN KO NA PO MGA HANAP BUHAY MGA IDOL PARA MA SUPORTAHAN KO 3 KO ANAK."
