The wellness and beauty spa of actress Liza Soberano was among the many businesses who were forced to close due to the threat of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a digital conference last week, the Make It With You star said that her Hope Hand and Foot Wellness Center has not been operating since March, after the government imposed lockdown protocols to curb the spread of COVID-19.
"Sad to say, I haven’t been able to open up Hope Wellness recently," said Liza.
"Actually, since the start of the pandemic, it’s been pretty tough on us,” she added.
Despite this, Liza and her business partners have been thinking of ways to keep the business afloat.
"And thinking of ways to kind of change it, but with the same relaxing feeling of the spa and everything,” she said. “But, of course, with the new safety protocols that we have to abide with.”
Liza also acknowledged that the closure has been especially hard for their employees. For this, the 22-year-old shared that she and her partners have given their staff financial assistance although their business remains closed.
Currently, spas and other personal care industries are still barred from operating despite Metro Manila already being placed under general community quarantine (GCQ).
It was in 2017 when Liza opened the first branch of her Hope Hand and Foot Wellness Center in Quezon City, saying she wants to focus on wellness as a mindset, a lifestyle and a ritual.
She opened a second branch in Alabang in December 2019.
