Television host and weather anchor Kim Atienza took a day off from work to spend quality time with his son, Jose, who will soon leave for the United States to study college.
On Instagram Thursday, August 19, the TV Patrol host shared photos of himself with his firstborn son at the Philippine Navy Golf Club in Taguig.
“Spent the whole day with this boy three days before he leaves me for university in Boston,” he wrote in the caption.
Spent the whole day with this boy 3 days before he leaves me for university in Boston. I played golf to be with my first born Jose. I long said goodbye to golf and last time I played was 1995. Today was the best golfing day in my life and it was not because of golf. I will miss you @jhatienza Proverbs 23:24 The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him.
While he hasn’t held a golf club in 25 years, Kim said he decided to play golf again to be with his son.
“Today was the best golfing day in my life and it was not because of golf,” he added. “I will miss you @jhatienza.”
Jose, 20, recently finished high school amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He graduated from the International School Manila in Taguig last May.
In 2019, Jose studied to become a pilot at the Leading Edge International Aviation Academy in San Fernando City, La Union.
Last June, Jose flew to Baler, Aurora to meet with Mayor Rhett Angara and donate medical supplies.
Jose is the eldest among Kim’s children. He and his wife, Felicia, have two other kids, Eliana and Emman.
