Between dealing with love life issues last year with ex-girlfriend Bea Alonzo and rumored flame Julia Barretto and the global pandemic and national issues this year, Gerald Anderson said he has been ready to move on past 2019 and 2020 and just cancel them already.

Yung livelihood namin nawala,” he said during the Love Unlock virtual media con held last August 11.

Despite all the things he has been through, Gerald said that he now chooses to look at the positive side of things. “So the only choice na meron tayo ngayon is to stay positive and napaka-cliche but may mga moments at may mga gabi na naiisip ko na, ‘Anong susunod nito? Paano tayo babangon? At kapag nakabangon na, ano ng sitwasyon natin bilang isang bansa, isang mundo?’ Pag inisip mo yung nangyari sa Beirut, Lebanon, parang wow ano pa ang puwedeng mangyari sa 2020? You know I think we’re being tested eh as a human race and kung ano yung mga natutunan natin itong taon na ito, being resilient and strong, kailangan natin dalhin yan sa susunod na taon. Everything happens for a reason and naniniwala talaga ako that there’s always a positive outcome sa lahat ng ‘to,” he shared.

During the ECQ period last April, the 31-year-old actor shared his new look with his social media followers. Along with his home quarantine look, Gerald said he has also had a lot of realizations about life and maturity. “Kumbaga not every day is promised to us at hindi natin alam sa sitwasyon ngayon kung anong mangyayari bukas. So importante talaga na kasama natin yung mga loved ones natin, yung pamilya natin. Mahalaga na maging mabuting tao tayo araw araw kasi hindi talaga natin alam ano puwedeng mangyari bukas or next week, next month,” he said.

With his latest digital mini-film Love Unlock: Hook-up, Gerald said playing the role of a guy separated from his longtime girlfriend (played by Arci Muñoz) during the lockdown also has some lessons to impart to viewers. “Siguro yung patience, understanding, just being yung selflessness na pag pumasok ka sa isang relasyon hindi na lang sarili mo yung iniisip mo, may partner ka na. Provider, more than anything, yung makakapag-provide ka sa kanya at maramdaman niya na pag kasama ka niya lagi siyang ligtas,” he added
