Jose Mari Chan's "Christmas in Our Hearts" song has been part of the Yuletide celebration of Filipinos for decades. With the Christmas season fast-approaching amid a global pandemic that continues to affect the lives of many people, Jose Mari hopes that his song will encourage people to share their blessings with others.
"It is my hope that Christmas will bring us comfort and healing. For many who have been blessed with sufficiency, God is giving this opportunity to share your blessings and bring joy to our brothers in need and make this Christmas happy and meaningful for all," he said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
The singer added that he also hopes that through his song, people will be reminded about being thankful for the birth of our savior Jesus Christ.
“Christmas is a season of joy, a season of gratefulness that God Almighty sent His only Son to grant us eternal life with Him," he remarked.
Jose Mari also shared what he has been praying now as we are still battling the pandemic.
“Our people today are suffering and I earnestly pray that they will not lose hope that this virus gets dissipated soon and bring us all back to good health," he stated.
It has been 30 years since his hit song was released.
