Aiko Melendez has vowed to feature small businesses on her YouTube channel as her way of helping them survive the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, July 23, the actress said that she will be featuring products and food from local businesses in her next vlogs as her way of thanking her nearly 100,000 subscribers on YouTube.

“I’m excited to share to all my almost 100k subscribers on YouTube that as my way of helping small business during the pandemic, we’ll feature some products, food that I believe in,” she said.

“To all those who are deserving of shoutouts from me, yes you read it right, not only in my [Instagram] Stories but in my YouTube channel as well. So this is my way of thanking everyone for subscribing my YOUTUBE channel, now road to 100k,” she added.

Aiko has been vlogging since late 2019, giving her fans a glimpse into her personal life.

She has more than 94,000 subscribers on YouTube as of this writing.

Previously, Aiko had sympathized with small business owners following the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)’s plan to tax online sellers amid lockdowns due to the pandemic that saw many Filipino business owners shift to e-commerce.

“My heart goes to all the negosyantes, who [are] trying to make a decent living by selling online. Nothing wrong we are in a middle of a crisis po,” she said on Instagram in June.

My statement regarding small businesses. My heart goes to all the negosyantes, who is trying to make a decent living by selling online, Nothing wrong we are in a middle of a crisis po. It is not right na tanggalan ang mga taong ito ng karapatan na kumita the best way they can. Haven’t you all noticed? In my Ig stories i accept gifts from different online stores to show them my support coz to be mentioned by a celebrity is a big help and promo for them. So pls everyone na me business i ask you to say your piece on my chat. And pls know that iam behind you on this cause... For as long as it’s not stealing, your products are good then there shouldn’t be a problem. Sayang wala na ako sa Qc kaya di ko mas maipaglaban kayo ,kaya sa social media accounts ko kayo tatayuan at maninidigan para sa inyo! Comment if you agree on me on this! And pls another taxation for them is such a bad timing.... swipe left for more of my statement.
