Heart Evangelista reveals how her Harper’s Bazaar feature opened a lot of doors for her in the fashion world.
Heart Evangelista shared that her feature in Harper's Bazaar in 2018 paved the way for her to bag bigger opportunities in the fashion industry.
In a Facebook Live video which was streamed on Tatler Philippines with Crazy Rich Asians author Kevin Kwan, Heart relayed that her career made a complete turnaround since the said Harper's Bazaar feature, which was spearheaded that time by Kevin.
"Usually when I attend fashion shows or they give me clothes to wear, I get like the leftovers... I mean, I'm very grateful just for them to invite me and send me clothes. But then after the Harper's Bazaar [feature] there's a complete change," she said.
"I would get first pick, they make me pick whatever I want, and I just didn't get what I was given. That was because of that. And it makes a huge difference… I feel that the stage can still be shared more with the Filipinos, and you did that for us. So thank you,” she told Kevin.
"You are more than welcome. It's part of my mission in life. It's really to showcase Asia in all its full diversity,” Kevin said.
He added that he really saw the Harper’s Bazaar feature as a chance for him to further promote Asia.
“I really saw that opportunity to showcase the amazing style icons that I know in Asia from different parts of the region,” he stated.
On why he chose Heart to be part of that feature, Kevin replied, "Heart has this timeless and classic beauty and she has elegance and style that demands to be showcased. It was an easy choice to make."
The author remarked that he would love to see Heart to star in his television or movie projects in the future. “I would love to personally make that happen… One day that stars will align and we can find the perfect project to showcase your talent. That would be so lovely. I will keep fighting for that,” Kevin said.
Meanwhile, Heart shared that her hand painted bags will be featured in a TV series that the best-selling author is working on.
"[Heart] was kind enough to let us showcase her beautifully painted Birkin bags. We showed them front and center in the TV show,” Kevin revealed.
