Dahil sa pagalaganap ng sakit na COVID 19, minabuti na ng pamunuan ng Miss World na ikansela ang pageant sa taong ito. 

Sa kanilang social media page, opisyal nang inanunsyo ng Miss World na sa 2021 na magaganap ang prestihiyosong pageant. 

"The 70th Miss World Final will be held in the latter part of 2021. Host country/venue will be confirmed very soon," ayon sa chairman at CEO ng Miss World na si Julia Morley. 


Dagdag pa nito: "We have made the decision to delay the 70th Miss World Final. Safety is paramount as we continue the fight againstxds Covid 19 - We look forward to welcoming the Miss World family to our very special celebrations next year."  

Si Toni-Ann Signh ng Jamaica ang reigning Miss World title-holder.

Ang aktres na si Megan Young ang kauna-unahang Pilipina na itinanghal na Miss World mula nang nagsimula ang beauty pageant noong 1951. Nakuha ni Megan ang korona noong 2013 sa Indonesia. 

 

 

Bago naging Miss Universe 2018 si Catriona Gray ay sumabak din ito sa Miss World pageant noong 2016 at napabilang sa Top 5 candidates.
