Television director Lester Pimentel Ong took to social media to relay a little known story about how Angel Locsin once saved a stuntman's life.

Lester relayed that Angel paid the hospital bill of the said stuntman.

Lester wrote, "One late night ng konti na lang tao sa public hospital kung saan nakaconfine si injured stuntman, dumating siya kasama lang ang driver niya... kinumusta si stuntman, consoled his wife and mom, then asked the person in charge of the hospital how much was the accumulated bill at magkano pa ang kakailanganin para makalakad pa ulit si stuntman. Agad nyang binayaran ang bill, nagiwan ng pabaon at encouraging words sa pamilya, then she left."

The director remarked that the actress indeed a hero behind the camera.

"Siya si Angel Locsin, she is the real life Darna...hero siya kahit sa likod ng camera, kahit walang nakatingin at walang nakakaalam. I just need to share my story of her," he said.

This is not the first-time that Angel was dubbed as a real-life Darna.

The Kapamilya actress spearheaded major initiatives recently to help the country combat COVID-19 pandemic.

Last March, she launched the donation drive called #UnitentWeStandPH, which aimed to raise funds to provide tents for overcrowded hospitals. The objective of the project was to accommodate more patients who need immediate treatment while also prioritizing the safety of health workers.

We still have a long way to go, Pero Wala pong pagsubok na hindi natin kakayanin basta’t tulong tulong tayo ❤️ Meron din pong 4 na Sanitation tents donated by Atty. Reggie Tongol Katrina Tiquia Alodin Santiaguel. Maraming Maraming Salamat po. Napakalaking bagay nito for the hospitals we’re helping and the frontliners natin who continue to risk their lives everyday to serve us. #UniTENTweStandPH @dimplesromana @neil_arce @gines.sarangaya @marevmatic2019

In June, she organized the Shop & Share project, which aims to provide mass testing to the marginalized sector of society.

To our friends and fellow artists, Hi. It’s been a while since we’ve done this — way back in 2009 in fact when we first put up Shop and Share to help those who were affected by Typhoon Ondoy. We had actors, singers and even basketball players donate personal items from designer bags, clothes, jerseys, jewelry, etc., and we auctioned them off on ebay, with all the proceeds going to the Philippine Red Cross. And, now, we humbly reach out again. These are hard times, truly frightening times for the Filipino people, especially with corona virus cases still on the rise. Many have been doing their part in trying to give hope or just to make each day easier for those who are in need. And the hard truth is they will remain in need as Covid-19 remains the invisible enemy amongst us changing our lives and sadly disrupting livelihoods. We would like to revisit the idea of artists coming together and helping those who need it the most. This time, with the funds we raise, we would like to purchase test kits and allow testing opportunities for the poorer sectors in the hopes of helping out in the efforts to provide mass testing in the country. Yes, in support of mass testing. Because in this way we can make a higher impact, by pushing the TEST-TRACE-ISOLATE/TREAT formula that is the only proven way to defeat the virus. If you are keen please do let us know. We do hope you can join us as we all work together to help flatten the curve in the Philippines in our little way. God Bless You, Team Shop & Share.
