BlackPink’s record-breaking “How You Like That”
The live premiere of “How You Like That” last June 26 reached 1.66 million peak concurrent viewers. The girls have set new records for most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube and most views for the premiere of a music video on YouTube.
The Guinness World Record declared the song’s official music video — which earned 86.3 million views on its first day — as having broken several records previously held by fellow global K-pop act BTS.
The said records the group broke are as follows: most-viewed YouTube video in 24 hours, most-viewed music video on YouTube in 24 hours, and most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group.
BTS’ “Boy With Luv" featuring American singer Halsey was the previous record holder of the said abovementioned categories. The said song has gained 74.6 million views in 24 hours.
“How You Like That” marked the beginning of BlackPink’s “three-step comeback” which fans can expect to culminate in September through the release of their first full-length album.
