Following Angel Locsin’s highly-charged speech at a noise barrage last Saturday July 18, several individuals criticized the Kapamilya actress — including a TV writer from the rival network — accusing her of fabricating stories to gain sympathy from the public. This prompted her fiancé, Neil Arce, to come to her defense.

In a Facebook post, Suzette Doctolero called out Angel and accused her of lying in her speech wherein “The General’s Daughter” star said ABS-CBN helped her when was at the lowest point of her career.

The writer said Angel’s net worth before moving to ABS-CBN was already high and even went as far as pointing out that without GMA, she won’t be the Darna people know today.

She wrote: “A e I admire your courage po pero huwag exag.

But go, tuloy ang laban, gurl.

Angel's boyfriend Neil Arce, in a series of tweets, defended the actress and said Angel let go of her shares even before the media giant was shut down.

“She let go of her shares, that she hasn’t even paid for, waaaaay before ABS shutdown. You can check,” he wrote.

Suzette then responded to Neil’s tweet saying she based her post on the list submitted by the Kapamilya network to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) last June.

“ABS-CBN ata ang naglabas ng list. June 2020 ito, right? Submitted nila ito sa PSE. Mali pala list nila. Matagal na pala ang June 2020? Unless nagkamali ang abs na isinama siya, then my applogies,” she wrote.

But according to Neil, Angel is included in the list because she still has shares that were not yet paid for by the actress.

“Shares were not paid for po you can check she let that go awhile back. You can sue me if I’m lying,” he replied.

He added: “She let it go before ABS shut down.

Suzette then responded to Neil by accusing ABS-CBN of not paying taxes and owning Big Dipper — both already cleared by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). But she immediately retracted her statement and said it wasn’t her point.

Won’t get into that argument kasi hahaha parang argument ng mga troll yan. Malaki respeto namin sa GMA,” he stated.

But according to Suzette, she was “asking” Neil and wasn’t implying anything, adding that she would no longer engage in a debate with the film writer and producer as she thinks he can’t handle a debate.

Tell me asan?  Nagtatanong ako, ano ang wag gayahin? Ang di pagbabayad ng buwis? Is that a statement?  That’s a question. But yes lets not go there kasi I don’t think kaya mo ang debate,” she said.

She added: “Freedom of expression is painful ano? At wag ka na palusot for her. Admirable but nyeh. Goodnight.”

But just when fans thought the heated debate between the two was over, Neil responded to another tweet of Suzette’s and said the GMA writer should research more.

To which Suzette replied: “Ay di naman kawawa show ko. Tapos.”

Neil then compared to Suzette’s arguments as similar to that of trolls.

“Nanood ako pumunta pa ko congresso. And wag mo ko tawaging repapips di tayo magkaibigan. Lutang ako? Yung argument mo pang troll. Tapos isip bago concept,” he wrote.

Neil then replied to another tweet of Suzette referring to Angel’s statement calling out fellow celebrities and said the actress-philanthropist never should have antagonized any of them.

Wrong move. Do not antagonize these people. Kunin sila sa side ng cause, wag iritahin,” she said.

Neil, for his part, replied: “That is what we believe in po. It is our right. My problem is you saying it’s against GMA when she respects GMA. That is my problem.”

Angel, at one point, chimed in and told Neil to stop engaging with Suzette because it might mislead people about the true mission of what they are fighting for.

‘Wag mo nang patulan. People might think na this is just a battle between networks & not the whole film & TV industry. That’s just one sad opinion of an artist na walang pakielam sa kapwa kasi comfortable sya sa ngayon. I love GMA [people]. 1 tao lang naman ang bad sakin dun pero wala na now,” she said.

Suzette, who seemingly thought Angel is starting a war with GMA, replied: “Kina call out ko ang  statement mo, you think you'll win a war sa mga patutsada mo? Sa kapwa mo artista? Sa gma? At now sa akin?”

But Angel made it clear that she was just defending herself against Suzette, saying she has nothing bad to say against GMA, which she admitted to owing a lot. She likewise encouraged to voice out her support instead of creating a divide between the ongoing fight of ABS-CBN.

Kelangan ka namin,” she said.

To which Suzette replied: “Whoa gurl! @143redangel Porke I called out your tila false statement ay wala na ako pake sa industry? Again thats a false statement. May brain ka. Use it.”

Suzette then told Angel she supports the renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise and said that she has no beef with her.

“I am for the franchise renewal. Sinabi ko na yan paulit ulit. As I’ve said, wala ako beef sayo.  Nagreact lang sa what you deemed ay unfair na statement. Isa lang industry natin. Terrible times my dear. As I’ve said you're a courageous woman. And I mean it,” she stated.

Angel, in another tweet, admitted that she couldn’t help but feel hurt for being discredited by the writer.

Use it.

Sharing a snippet of a video from the rally, Suzette wrote: Hmm... whats ur point again @neil_arce? And @143redangel? Deny pa e yan ang video. Ok let’s stop this na. Basta ingat na lang sa statement ha? Kasi people will react.’ Simple ng point ko, pinakumplikado nyo.”

Angel ended her tweets by reiterating that she owes a lot to GMA and added that she couldn’t handle the fact that people like Suzette, are trying to discredit her.

But for you to discredit me while I’m fighting for the people, shame on you,” she stated.

Suzette Doctolero is known for being the creator of the TV series “Encantadia.”

Angel, on the other hand, rose to prominence after starring in various GMA shows. She moved to ABS-CBN in 2007, where she became one of the most prominent artists of the network.
