Dimples Romana and Beauty Gonzalez — the lead stars of the top-rating Kapamilya Gold series “Kadenang Ginto” — showed solidarity with the employees of embattled media giant ABS-CBN as the network was denied the renewal of its franchise last July 10.
Sharing a photo of her kneeling before a lighted candle at home, Dimples praised her best friend and fellow Kapamilya star Angel Locsin for leading the way in standing up for the 11,071 workers of the network.
Angel, dubbed by many as a real-life superhero and an angel sent from above, was among the stars who spoke before the hundreds of the ABS-CBN employees and supporters who attended the noise barrage at the ABS-CBN headquarters last Saturday, July 18.

“Just finished working today with Alonzo, humabol sa dasal ngayon para masamahan ang aking mga mahal na Kapamilya. Salamat Mars @therealangellocsin for always leading the way, making your presence felt, not just to me but to all our beloved Kapamilyas. Mabuhay ka,” she wrote in the caption.
Meanwhile, Beauty Gonzalez, who was also among those in attendance at the eighth day of the daily noise barrage held outside ABS-CBN Broadcast Center, went on a trip down memory lane as she recalled how the network molded her into the woman that she is today.
Sharing a photo of her old access card on Instagram, Beauty began by sharing how ABS-CBN remained by her side every step of the way.
“Found my original ABS ID card and everything just came flashing back, as a feisty but secretly scared 16 year old, I tried my luck in the big city. I stumbled and crawled, I kicked and cried, and amidst my heartaches and triumphs constantly by my side was my kapamilya, ABS,” she began.
Beauty went on to say share how ABS-CBN — throughout her nearly 15-year “imperfect” career, held her hand through it all.
“Not only the bosses who pushed me and molded me into the woman I would become but the whole team who held my hand through it all. Now almost 30, almost half my life, I look back at my imperfect career, I cry for my imperfect home network and feel immense sadness for my imperfect friends caught up in this madness,” she stated.
Despite everything that’s happening to ABS-CBN right now, Beauty remains hopeful that the company will find a way to rise up and be whole again.
“I cry not for myself, for my family will remain strong! I cry not for you, because I know you will find a way. I cry for US, because I know we will never be the same, never be whole and as one again. Let us all hold our heads up high and remember that for at least that one shining moment in our time, we were all part of something that was good and true, imperfect, yet in the service of the Pilipino. ABS-CBN, stay strong, be proud.”
Dimples and Beauty were the lead stars of “Kadenang Ginto,” which ran for more than two years.
Dimples started her career in showbiz through one of ABS-CBN's longest-running series "Esperanza". She has since appeared in a number of films and television shows and has eventually become one of the most versatile actresses today.
Meanwhile, Beauty, who became the fourth big placer in the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Plus, has proven that she is one of the most talented actresses of her generation, through her various portrayals in both film and television.
