"My heart breaks along with you."
These were the words of Anne Curtis to her colleagues at ABS-CBN who lost their jobs after the House committee denied the network a new franchise, which shut down the media giant's operations on television and radio.
"I still cannot fathom how those in power could let this happen... I mean how is allowing a company to shut down and people losing jobs they love, a solution to what already is a crazy time?" Anne said on Instagram.
The It’s Showtime host also wondered how lawmakers could go on with their lives knowing that a lot of people have lost their livelihood amid a global pandemic because of their actions.
"How do they sleep at night knowing that because of their decision, people are now suffering from sadness, anxiety, panic and are just scared for what will happen next?" she posted.
Anne added, "I really don’t know what to say. I’m sorry that those who were in position to do the right thing chose to be heartless. I’m so sorry."
The Kapamilya star remarked that though she is not physically present to support her colleagues, she will be with them in spirit.
"I may not be there physically to stand with you, as some of you know I am not there and have a little one to look after.... but know with all my heart I stand with you and share your sadness.”
"Love your Stephanie, Imang, Dyosa, Celine, Dyesebel and your crazy bunso Showtime host, Anne. Isang mahigpit na yakap," Anne said.
Anne has been one of the Kapamilya stars who have been vocal of her support for the embattled network.

On July 5, Anne called for lawmakers to give ABS-CBN a chance and give it a new franchise.
"Praying that those who possess the power have the heart to renew the franchise of ABS-CBN. I pray that they give the network a chance to improve, and most importantly, to continue to be in the service of the Filipino People—as they have been the past 70 years," she posted on her Instagram page.
Following the decision of the House committee not to issue the media giant a new franchise, Anne also took to Instagram to express her grief over what happened.
"I am lost for words. My heart breaks for everyone that is affected by this.... from our bosses to all the employees and the loyal viewers of ABS-CBN.... It is indeed a very sad day. I know people won’t forget this. Maraming Salamat sa lahat ng sumuporta at nagdasal. I stay hopeful that somehow this isn’t the end... A big hug to my Kapamilya Family," she remarked.
Anne joined ABS-CBN in 2004.
She was part of programs like Hiram, ASAP, Kampanerang Kuba, and Maging Sino Ka Man, among others. Meanwhile, she has been hosting the noontime program It’s Showtime since 2009.
