EXCLUSIVE: Celebrities from a canceled ABS-CBN show reunite for web series ‘Pandaemonium’

Muling nagsama-sama para gumawa ng web series na pinamagatang Pandaemonium ang grupo ng mga celebrities mula sa isang nakanselang ABS-CBN variety show noong 2012 titled Eto Na.Pito sa hosts and performers ng naudlot na programa ang nakausap namin via zoom at lahat sila ay aminadong na-miss talaga ang showbiz industry.Tatlo sa kanila ay sa ibang bansa na naninirahan tulad nina Arjay de Jesus (Thailand), Gretchen Gordillo (Dubai) at Kristina May Mejica (Canada).Ang apat naman like Margo Midwinter na dating PBB 737 housemate, Anton Ceniza, Kenzo Ortiz Jr. at Jhervin Tanteco ay nananatili sa Pilipinas.“Hindi na ipinalabas yung Eto Na namin kasi nag-hit bigla yung <a href='https://ent.abs-cbn.com/bcwmh'>Be Careful With My Heart</a> at wala nang available timeslot. Do’n kasi dapat yung timeslot ng show,” simulang kuwento ng Pandaemonium stars sa amin via Zoom.Pagkatapos nilang magkausap sa Zoom ay nabuo ang isang idea na gumawa sila ng web series para maituloy yung gusto sana nilang gawin noon. Ideya ni Jherwin ang Pandaemonium at siya rin ang director nito.Kuwento ulit nila, “We are a group of longtime friends experiencing the pandemic right now. We all met sa isang show sa ABS-CBN na hindi natuloy and we all moved on with our lives after that.“We grew up, we moved to a different country, got other types of job at yung iba sa amin, nag-pursue pa din sa pagiging artista and pag work sa media. Kaya lang, nakaka-miss din talaga ang showbiz.”Ayon pa sa kanila, sa simula ay parang trip-trip lang ang paggawa ng web series hanggang sineryoso na rin nila ito.“The idea of creating a movie ang naisip naming gawin talaga. This was just parang usap-usapan o trip-trip lang na, ‘Uy tara, let’s make a movie.’ Then out of nowhere, eto na nga nagkatotoo na at sineryoso na namin lahat yung idea na gumawa ng web series.“One of the main reasons of this project siguro is to rekindle the light that was once inside of us—kasi nga hindi lahat nag-pursue ng acting career—baka ito na ang shining moment namin. Hehehe!“Another reason is—we want to show people that you could create something interesting during this pandemic season,” lahad pa ng buong cast.Pandaemonium story is set on a different timeline, and is on the year 2035 where the pandemic grew to be called COVID-X. The cure is found in the Philippines but the factory developing the cure is destroyed and only a little amount of vaccines remain.Instead of choosing who gets the cure the government created a reality show called “Pandaemonium” kung saan 6 ang mapipiling contestants at sa anim na ito ay tatlo lang automatic na mabibigyan ng vaccine or cure.Ayon kay Jherwin, “As a director, ako lang yung nakakaalam ng buong istorya ng web series at yung writer ko na kapatid ko. So every time na mare-receive ng cast yung script magugulat sila sa mangyari at sa magiging task nila na dapat din nilang ipanalo.”Ang Pandaemonium ay magkakaroon ng 12 episodes. Ang kanilang first two episodes ay naipalabas na noong magkasunod na Sabado—May 30 (The Contenders) at June 6 (The Rightful).
