Batangas 6th District Representative Vilma Santos delivered her sponsorship speech for House Bill 4305 on Monday, June 1, as the House of Representatives resumed its joint committee hearings for the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN.In her speech, Vilma highlighted the contribution of ABS-CBN not only to entertainment but also to public service. “Just for the record, ABS-CBN is already an institution when it comes to television, radio broadcasting, and other areas of communication most especially in the areas of public service. The actress-politician stated that not renewing the franchise of ABS-CBN will not only affect its employees but also those who depend on them. “Sa ngayon po, marami sa aking mga kasamahan sa industriya ang nawalan na ng trabaho at ang iba naman po ay nakaambang mawalan na rin po ng trabaho. Para po sa kaalaman ng lahat, sa bawat talent po ng ABS-CBN na mawalan ng trabaho, marami pong mga kasamahan nila sa trabaho ang maaapektuhan," Vilma said. Dahil sa pandemyang ito, marami na pong negosyo ang naapektuhan, nagsara.
