Robi Domingo broke down in tears while talking about the forced shutdown of ABS-CBN's broadcast operations. During an episode of MYX It UP with his fellow VJ Ai dela Cruz, Robi couldn't help but be emotional when he was reminded of the thousands of jobs that could be lost after the network went off air.
“I remember where I started and I remember how hard it is to produce one show and one event. And having said that one naalala ko ang mga employees, ang mga crew and their families who are going to be affected. So it was hard seeing that one shutdown, as in nung sinabi na ‘hanggang sa muli, Kapamilya,'" he stated.
Robi's career in show business commenced after he became part of ABS-CBN's Pinoy Big Brother. He hosted various shows on the network including The Voice of the Philippines, ASAP, and Pinoy Big Brother: Otso, among others.
VJ Ai shared the same sentiment and also teared up during the episode as she expressed her sadness about the cessation of the network’s operation on television and radio.
“When I saw the blank screen I didn’t cry then but I don’t know why I am crying now. Seeing it is very different, like all our lives nabuhay tayo, kapag pumunta tayo sa Channel 2 may napapanood tayo, pagkabata natin doon natin ni-spend with our Sunday cartoons, with our family kapag may pinapanood kayo together. Tapos biglang makikita mo, now when you go to Channel 2, it’s black,” Ai remarked.
