Ever since she became a mom to her two kids Zia and Sixto or Ziggy, Marian Rivera-Dantes has been one of the most hands-on and loving parental figures in showbiz. Even though her own parents separated at an early age, Marian has always felt grateful to grow up knowing she had two moms after growing up with her grandmother who she affectionately refers to as “nanay” as well as her mom Amalia who she considers her best friend. Marian said that her nanay taught her a lot of life lessons like, "You can surpass anything if you have the determination in life, faith in God, and believe in yourself and in the people that surround you and love you."
With the country still on enhanced community quarantine, Marian has been busy finding creative ways to keep her children busy at home with activities like home-studying, art and crafts, and baking. A meticulous planner even before she got married, Marian is also very hands-on in planning and preparing food for her family. The WalterMart Supermarket delivery service user said, “Iyon ang pinakamahalaga na maihain ko sa kanila kung ano ang dapat at ligtas para sa kanila.” Marian also believes that teamwork is important in families with husband Dingdong, daughter Zia in doing different tasks around the house.
For Mother’s Day, Marian acknowledges all the sacrifices all the sacrifices from “kapit-nanay frontliners - doctors, nurses, police at military. Mga government workers, food and grocery workers, OFWs, at lahat ng essential workers. Kaya natin ito dahil magtutulungan tayo!” And while she feels sad about the current situation, she feels it is important that moms should be supportive of each other in times of crisis, “We stay strong together, stay in touch, and inspire each other. Kung may kapitbahay na nagtutulungan sa oras ng kagipitan, tayo namang mga mommy ay magkakapit-nanay,” she explains.
