After two of his aunts who are both nurses in the US got diagnosed with COVID-19, Robi Domingo said his family decided not to allow his parents, both senior citizen doctors, to go to the front lines.
In a #KapamilyaFBLiveTakeOver via ABS-CBN’s official Facebook page, Robi talked about all things in between, including some of the things that kept him busy while on quarantine to more personal stuff.
When a fan watching from the UK left a comment to say hi, the Kapamilya personality — who comes from a family of medical practitioners —offered prayers for all the health workers who are continuously working amid the pandemic.
“I’ve been reading and watching the news lately. Isa sa mga pinakatinamaan countries din. And most of the health workers there are Asians and Filipinos, actually. So I pray for all the families that have been affected by this virus,” he said.
According to the TV host, his family decided not to allow his parents, both senior citizen doctors, to go on the frontlines following a health scare from two of their aunts in the US who got diagnosed with COVID-19.
“‘Yung puso ko talaga malapit sa mga medical practitioners primarily because you know, my parents are both doctors. They’re here. They’re both here. They’re senior citizens kaya hindi na namin pinayagan. ‘Yung risk nandu’n na.
“But both of my Titas before got the virus. They’re okay now. It became personal to us — ‘yung situation. Kasi my Tita is in Florida and who is a nurse got the virus and nahawa ‘yung isang Tita ko. Nakaka-praning talaga siya.
“I can just imagine the people and the families affected by it. I am with you. I am one with you,” he said.

The said live session, where Robi played a couple of song covers on piano, allowed ABS-CBN to raise money for those in need through Facebook Stars — a new feature of the social network, “stars” can be converted into cash.
