Gloria Diaz admits it’s not easy to play a beauty queen in a new iWant Original series

Akala mo porke beauty queen ako pa-easy-easy lang, no! Mahirap yung role pag binasa mo ang script. Hindi yung pa-bandying-bandying lang, no!

“It’s very emotional, maraming drama, and then it’s serious na nakakatawa in some scenes so it’s not the walk in the park,” maigsing paliwanag ng aktres sa role niya sa iWant series.

“She did not want. Isabelle could have been Miss Philippines but more than that it was like a choice kung magbu-beauty queen ba o mag-artista. Nag-artista siya because she was a good actress,” simpleng paliwanag niya.

“I think I’m the luckiest 68-year-old woman around,” pagmamalaki pa niya.

“Of course, some people would say, ‘Ah, yung iba diyan mayayaman, pabandying-bandying, I think that’s very unlucky. The worst thing that can happen to me is yung walang ginagawa araw-araw.

“Parang that’s a nightmare. Gusto ko yung may ginagawa. Siyempre, napapagod din ako, gusto ko nang umuwi minsan, di ba, pero to have something to wake up for, to greet and to be kasali and relevant that’s a privilege. And I hope my children will one day also go through that—to be relevant,” sey pa niya.

I think they think na I expect to hear that,  but I will see for myself. I’m very critical of myself so I’ve never been happy, ‘Bitin, kulang, dapat ginawa ko pa ng isa,’ ganun ako, eh,” rason ni Gloria.

Patuloy niya, “Pero sometimes, nahihiya ako to ask for a second take or third. Do’n sa Unbreakable (movie nina Bea Alonzo at Angelica Panganiban), I think I was okey, except for some scenes na dapat binigay ko ng lahat. But you always want more for yourself pero baka naman hindi mo magawa, so yon.”

“Ganun din ako sa teleserye, every shot I take. Gusto kong sabihin sa director, ‘Can I take one more,’ but of course I don’t kasi nahihiya ako, I’m beterana na tapos humihingi ako ng second take.

“Maybe I’m just like perfectionist or I want more. Kasi sometimes with dialogue, feeling ko hindi ako convincing, parang I know I can do better, pero baka hindi rin naman kasi baka that’s  just over estimating myself, so atras na kaagad ako,” lahad pa ng beauty queen turned actress.
