Gal Gadot announced that Wonder Woman 1984 will be released at a later date amid the COVID-19 health crisis. Originally, the movie was supposed to premiere this coming June.
In an Instagram post, Gal said that the movie will start screening instead in August.
"In these dark and scary times, I am looking forward to a brighter future ahead. Where we can share the power of cinema together again. Excited to redate our WW84 film to August 14, 2020. I hope everyone is safe. Sending my love to you all," she wrote on Instagram.
Wonder Woman 1984 is a sequel to the 2017 blockbuster hit movie Wonder Woman. Set in 1984, the movie tells the story of Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) as she faces her enemies Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) and Cheetah (Kristen Wiig), and as she reunites with lover Steve Trevor (Chris Pine).
The movie is directed by Patty Jenkins.
