No harsh words could stop Pokwang from helping out those in need as she gamely took on the challenge to set up a central kitchen.
Over the past week, the Banana Sundae star led her own efforts to provide food for those who work on the front lines including the military, police, and the health care workers.
Despite receiving negative criticisms on social media, the 49-year-old comedienne went on with her relief efforts— packing rice for those who could not afford it amid the enhanced community quarantine by the national government.
But just when we thought the Kapamilya celebrity was done with her humanitarian work during these trying times, she revealed that she has agreed to set up a ‘central kitchen’ with Father Tito Caluag to feed the hungry amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Friday, March 20, Pokwang took a screenshot of her conversation with Caluag, writing: “Can’t wait! Thank you Father @titocaluag.”
Caluag, approached the actress via Instagram, said: “Mamang, game ka maging ‘central kitchen’ to cook meals for poor families? We will provide ingredients. Where are you located?”
To which Pokwang readily responded: “Game po ako kaya lang sa Antipolo po ako. Okay lang po?”
With Pokwang sharing her excitement over the planned “central kitchen” project, it seems we’ll just have to wait for a few more days until we see her new act of good deed come to fruition.
