REVIEW: Roxanne Barcelo discovers lesbian relationships in digital series ‘Fluid’

In the latest IWant series Fluid, Roxanne Barcelo plays the role of Mitch, a woman who has almost lost all hope in finding love after many failed dating experiences with men. When her friend suggests she try a dating new app for lesbians called Les Go, Mitch gets to learn all about the different types of lesbians. She almost loses hope until she attends a house party of her high school lesbian friend Portia and meets George, a gorgeous film colorist with whom she immediately strikes easy conversation. George is played by gorgeous beauty queen and newcomer Ann Colis, who quickly falls for the hesitant yet friendly Mitch.

Roxanne and Ann are two beautiful people whose instant chemistry is fiery onscreen. Their intimate scenes are believable and natural. Mitch introduces George to her family as a friend, in order to test their reaction to the possibility of her having a lesbian relationship. While their romance blossoms, Mitch’s ex-boyfriend Jacob returns from abroad which adds to the drama in Mitch’s life. Unlike his usual comedic roles, Joross Gamboa plays the role of cheating ex-boyfriend Jacob with earnest sincerity that also makes you root for him.

More than just putting a spotlight on the LGBTQIA community, Fluid is a story about self-discovery and opening yourself up to finding love even in the unlikeliest of places. Expect strong, candid, and effortlessly natural performances from not just the leads but a talented ensemble cast which also includes Janice de Belen, Al Tantay, Zar Donato, J-Mee Kantayag, and Emmanuelle Vera.

Fluid is produced by Lonewolf Films and written by Carlo Baltazar Ventura, Benedict Mique at Benjie Mique. Watch it free on the iWant app (iOs and Android) or iwant.ph.
