The Philippines, which is currently under a state of public health emergency, only has a total of 2,000 coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) test kits according to a recent Senate inquiry.

As of this writing, the Department of Health has already recorded over 142 people who have acquired the fast-spreading disease. Of the total reported number of cases, twelve have died while three have recovered.

Last Monday, March 16, President Rodrigo Duterte put the entire Luzon region on enhanced community quarantine.
