Actor Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, have been released from a hospital in Queensland, Australia five days after testing positive for the coronavirus.

Actor Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, have been released from a hospital in Queensland, Australia five days after testing positive for the coronavirus.

 

 

A representative for the couple told CNN on Monday, March 16, that the couple remains under quarantine at a rented house in Australia, where they were both diagnosed with the virus last week.

Tom and Rita, both 63 years old, are in Australia to begin filming a movie about Elvis Presley. The former is set to play Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker, in the film directed by Baz Luhrmann and produced by Warner Bros.

Tom and Rita were the first Hollywood celebrities to announce they had contracted the coronavirus. In the United States alone, the virus, which causes a disease, COVID-19, has infected more than 3,800 and killed more than 70 people.
