Roxanne Barcelo sorry after earning ire of Alex Gonzaga’s fans

Roxanne Barcelo has apologized to fans of Alex Gonzaga after recently reposting a tweet that accompanied a comment bashing the “Home Sweetie Home” star.

The said tweet was from a fan who sang praises for Roxanne for being "super nice" and "funny" when he accidentally bumped into the actress at a mall just two weeks ago.

"She listens and engages [with] us very well. Kung ano-ano napag-usapan namin, from work to next vid niya to jowa jowa to skin care. Huhu. [Love you], Miss Roxanne," added the user.

The "Fluid" star reposted the tweet, but didn't realize until later that it was a quote retweet of a post from another fan who was reacting to the accusations that Roxanne is copying Alex's vlogging style in her YouTube videos.

"The disrespect!!!! Roxee B is talented. She can act, she can sing, and most of all, she is effortlessly funny. Alex?? Pfft. Marcos apologist pa lol," said the other fan.

Roxanne eventually removed the tweet from her page, but not before fans of Alex were able to take a screenshot of it. Many of them called out Roxanne for being a "hypocrite" and "plastic" over her earlier statement that she wants to collaborate with Alex, who she said has long been a good friend of hers, on a vlog.

"Plastic mo for saying you wanna collab with Alex. You RTed your sub' hate tweet about Alex. ... Stop mentioning her name in your interviews. Alex is Alex. I just don't know about you.Stop saying she inspires you in vlogging when your actions speak otherwise. Stop using her name for clout. Now we know why your small subscribers are insecure, because they got it from you," wrote one of Alex's fans via a series of Twitter posts.

In her apology, Roxanne emphasized that she doesn't condone hate or bullying towards others.

"I have been bullied all of high school and college and feel terrible for those who think I retweeted to a reply that I did not know was a response to a thread on hate," she said.

"I feel so bad. I didn't read that it was a reply to a different thread. I only read the text to me. I did not see the thread so thank you for letting me know! Again, I'm so sorry. I took down my retweet immediately and I only want to spread positivity. Again I am so sorry," she added.

Roxanne also stressed that she respects Alex for the actress and host that she is.

"For your peace of mind, I won't ever message her about a collab so as to appease your doubts," she continued.

Saying she "takes responsibility" for the incident, Roxanne concluded by assuring everyone that she "will be more proactive and aware to encourage a culture of love and celebration towards each other."
