Still on a hiatus from showbiz, Ellen Adarna shared what she has been up to this month by posting on her Instagram Stories her journey towards finishing a 14-day Meditative Gymnastics course from the Kokoro Team Bali in Indonesia last March 14. In order to complete the course, the 31-year-old actress had to finish different physical and mental challenges, some of which were documented by her teacher. Ellen wrote, “My mentor took videos and pics so I can see my progress and achievements and how I dealt with my demons. He documented some of the exercises so I can look back (and) be reminded and say I did it.”
Ellen also shared that in order to fully focus on the program, she had to make sacrifices. She said, “I was isolated for one week no phone, no contact with the outside world. This is a one-on-one training. 14 days straight. 14 days vegetarian.”
Some of the challenges Ellen posted included a Standing Tree Meditation where had to stand on top of a building for five hours straight and another challenge had her ankles bound so she had to jump to get around until she reached five kilometers. She also had to cut Bermuda grass one by one and arrange them side by side for four hours straight. Ellen explained the rationale why she was doing through a chat message, writing, “The point was to go crazy and to know you’re going crazy and its useless to go crazy so you meditate.”
When one of her followers accused her of undergoing the program just so she can brag about it on social media, Ellen countered that she never intended to take photos and videos of the program. She wrote, “When you’re in a stressful and sticky situation the last thing you want is a camera in your face. The camera triggered me and pissed me off at one point. I did not ask him to take videos of me. Ever. But he insisted and told me one day I’ll look back and see things differently. I never imagined I’d share this because I thought I wasn’t going to get better.
