Actress Nikki Valdez is recovering after recently undergoing surgery on her left hand.
In an Instagram post, the Star Magic artist revealed that she injured her hand in an accident, as she shared a photo of herself in a wheelchair with her left arm in a sling.
"Today, I came home with a grateful heart," she wrote.
"Much worse could have happened but here I am alive and in one piece (may kamay na bakal lang nga but all good!!). It may take time for a full recovery but I will be diligent in doing everything to feel better," she said.
Nikki, who did not go into detail as to what happened to her, admitted that she had been feeling down since the accident happened.
"The last thing I want is maging pabigat sa mga taong nakapaligid sa akin kaya ang sama ng loob ko sa nangyari, she said.
Nevertheless, she's grateful to everyone who has reached out and sent their messages of support and concern.
"Thank you sa inyong lahat na nagparamdam ng malasakit," she said.
"To our neighbors who helped and administered first aid, thank you. To my doctors and nurses (both at the ER, OR and post OP), salamat po sa pag-alaga to make sure everything went well. My Star Magic family, thank you for constantly checking on me and the beautiful flowers you sent to brighten up my day. My 'Bagong Umaga' family—each one of you who messaged me, I love you all!! To my friends in and out of showbiz ('di ko na kayo iisa-isahin, ang dami niyo—yes ang dami palang nagmamahal sa akin), thank youuuuu for messaging. 'Di lang ako makasagot agad hirap magtext ng isang kamay lang... To my families for all the love and care," she continued.
"Last but not the least, my husband Luis for being my extra arm, extra hand, my extra everythiiiiiing, making sure I am mobile and not in so much pain. I love you sooooooo much!!!!" she added.
In a separate post, Nikki also thanked her daughter Olivia, who has been the "most worried and affected one" since the accident, for taking care of her.
"She couldn’t bear to see me in this situation. Laging nakaalalay, she sets up my corner in the living room so I can rest and makes sure to kiss my casted arm and says, 'I love you my Mama...'" she wrote.
"Thank you anak. Mama will be careful na. I don’t like you to worry nor feel sorry for me ha. Thank you for taking care of me," she said.
According to Nikki, if her situation has proven one thing, it is that "God is in control and has sent so many angels on earth to love and take care of me."
"From the bottom of my heart, salamat po," she said.
