More than three decades since they co-hosted the variety show The Penthouse Live!, former couple Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez are finally reuniting on television.
The two will host Exes and Whys with Pops and Martin, a musical talk show which will stream on Cignal TV soon.
Pops shared the good news with her fans and followers on Instagram, as she shared photos of herself and Martin on the set of their new show.
"'EX'cited to be back on screen with the one and only @martinnievera," she wrote in one of her captions.
Exes and Whys will be directed by their eldest son, singer Robin Nievera. G3 San Diego is the scriptwriter.
Last year, Pops and Martin surprised fans when they reunited onstage for the US concert tour Two-gether Again, which is a nod to their sold-out anniversary concert as a musical pair in 1995, Two-gether, A Decade of Love.
In a press conference last January, Pops said that she and Martin no longer feel any "stress" or "tension" when performing together.
"I think we surpassed it; the stress and the tension. Parang gusto nga naming ma-tense e hindi na ayaw na. I always say this, performing with Martin is so easy. He makes it easy for me," she said.
Martin said he feels the same way, and described their chemistry on stage as "automatic."
"Pag magkasama kami ni Pops, napakadali, it's so easy. It's automatic already. I think the people see that. Nothing is forced, and we don't try to enforce anything on the stage, that we cannot deliver honestly and sincerely," he explained.
Pops and Martin married in 1986, but ended up separating in 1999. They have two sons together, Robin and Ram.
Martin then dated Katrina Ojeda, with whom he has a son named Santino. However, the couple also eventually parted ways.
