Jennylyn Mercado urged Filipinos to stop commenting on other people's physical looks upon seeing them.
On her Twitter page, Jennylyn said, "Can we discontinue this toxic Filipino trait na tuwing nagkikita ang hilig mag komento tungkol sa physical looks ng iba tulan ng - 'uy tumaba ka.'"
The actress remarked that this is completely wrong to say.
"First of all it's rude, second it may trigger some people na may Ed (eating disorder). Maling mali," she posted.

It’s not okay. First of all it’s rude, second it may trigger some people na may Ed.

A netizen agreed and said, "I Agree! I only realized how off-putting this was when I moved away. Tapos umuwi ako. Sana mayroon pa ibang mas Mabuting topic to break the ice Kaysa weight, looks, marital status, etc. marami naman puwede."
Another netizen commented, "Nakakalungkot na mismong sa kapamilya mo maririnig ang mga ganitong salita haha they even make fun of it. Hindi nila alam naaapektuhan na rin pati self-esteem ko."
"This is so true. I stopped going to reunions and meeting my relatives because of those Titas na parang walang ibang mabati kundi ‘Uy tumaba ka’. Nakakababa din ng self-esteem," another netizen stated.
