After shooting the film The Missing in Saga, Japan last year, Miles Ocampo shared how happy she is that it is now being shown online through the ongoing Metro Manila Film Festival until January 7.

“Itong The Missing hindi kasi ito yung actual na horror na may nang-gugulat at tatakutin ka. Itong pelikulang ito mapapatanong ka kung ano missing sa life mo. Every time na horror yung ginagawa namin, hindi maiiwasan na lalo na pag new location, madilim, hindi natin maiiwasan yung feeling na baka meron dito, yung takutan sa set. Siyempre kapag horror yung ginagawa for some reason merong horror feels kang mararamdaman while filming eh. Siguro nakakadagdag na rin yun sa performance naming lahat para mas maging horror talaga yung pelikula,” she explained.

Even though shooting for their film had long finished even before the pandemic started, Miles said that she is happy with the new normal way of shooting TV and movie projects.

“With the new normal kailangan talaga natin to adapt and mag-ingat talaga. Isa siguro sa pinaka advantage na nagustuhan ko sa new normal set up yung mga cast na nagkakasama ngayon, not just the cast but yung crew, lahat mas nagiging close di ba. Iba yung closeness na nabubuo now compared sa mga ilang araw tayo na sunod sunod before. Iba yung camaraderie na nabubuo nung grupo. Siguro isa yun sa positive na rason nitong new normal na ito. I’m very thankful sa production sa alaga na protocol and before and after ng shoot ay may swab test talaga yung pinaka importante ngayon. Pagka-swab, swab talaga lahat,” she explained.

Miles was also thankful to her The Missing co-stars Joseph Marco and Ritz Azul for making their filming experience abroad a happy experience.

“Si Ate Ritz naka-work ko na siya sa Banana Sundae before every time na nag-ge-guest ako, hi hello lang talaga. First time ko silang makatrabaho ni kuya Joseph with this project and masayang masaya ako kasi nga sabi nila ang hirap mag shoot out of the country, but I’m very thankful na silang dalawa, hindi sila naging pabigat. Walang naging pabigat sa grupo. But yun yung masaya sa amin. Talagang may cooperation lahat and si kuya Joseph nakita ko yung dedication niya sa trabaho niya, kung gaano siya ka-hands on sa bawat eksena niya and with ate Ritz naman, talagang kahit no lines, damang dama mo na siya sa mata niya. So very thankful ako lalo na sa alaga ni direk Easy (Ferrer),” she said.

When asked which is her favorite scene in The Missing, Miles said audiences should watch out for a scenic one. “Meron kami dun isang location na parang tulay. Basta part din siya ng isa sa mga importanteng conversations ni Ritz and Joseph dun sa pelikula so isa yun sa hindi ko makakalimutan dun sa Saga,” she revealed.
